Community Helpers Sensory

After going to the mall and seeing all the cool construction workers, we decided to imitate them using our little construction cars that we happened to have in the house.

We started our with a bin full of oatmeal and something called Farina which is very similar to cream of wheat and we let the children ride their construction cars in it. They imitated the beeping sound of the cars backing up and dumping the oats in a pile.

At first this was our writing sensory project but then we easily turned it into a construction sensory bin.

This is keeping them entertained as I type 🙂 it has been at least two hours since we started and they are still going.

I love how we can see something outside and have everything at home necessary to make a fun lesson out of it.

We discussed what we saw outside and what the construction workers were doing. They loved watching it in person, lol even the guy driving the construction car used the machine to wave at the children. Needless to say the kids were screaming like we were in a concert LOL. So I am happy to have done this at home.
